Who is CR Laine?
A third-generation, family-owned company (just like Green Front!), CR Laine was founded in 1958 in Hickory, North Carolina. CR Laine specializes in bench-crafted custom upholstery, bringing a modern perspective to a classic style. While welcoming new technologies and innovations, the company has held firm in its dedication to handcrafted construction, continuing to feature eight-way, hand-tied springs among other time-tested practices. CR Laine prides itself on sourcing a rainbow of textiles from artisans around the globe. Its mission statement reads: “We create inspiring upholstered furniture through innovative STYLE, COMFORT, and COLOR.”

Why Choose CR Laine?
A forward-thinking company, CR Laine is committed to sustainable practices in manufacturing as well as to continual improvement in its use of natural resources. Here are some of the little ways that CR Laine makes a big difference:
- Sourcing Appalachian hardwoods. As a certified member of the Appalachian Hardwoods Manufacturing Initiative, CR Laine makes sure that all wood used is local and sustainably harvested. USDA analysis confirmed that CR Laine’s hardwood supplier has not only maintained but consistently increased hardwood growth in the region over the past half-century.
- Incorporating recycled materials. CR Laine’s coil springs are made from 50% recycled material. The company also incorporates 80-100% regenerated fibers (formerly plastic drinking bottles!) in constructing seat decks, trim pads, and back cushions.
- Using natural products such as plant-based foam padding and seat cushion cores and water-based wood adhesive.
- Meeting environmental and consumer safety standards with cushions, foam, and decking that has been certified by CertiPUR-US©.
