One of the best parts of shopping at Green Front is that you can purchase anything off of our showroom floor and take it home with you that day. For custom pieces, lead times will vary by manufacturer. Sales associates will provide estimates at the time of purchase.
If this is your first time at Green Front, or even if you’ve shopped with us before, the Field Guide will be a helpful resource in navigating our 13 buildings. You can pick up a Field Guide in any building and use it to plan your shopping day(s) at Green Front.
Due to our ever-changing inventory and unmatched prices, we do not sell our pieces online. However, Green Front has three convenient locations in Farmville, Virginia; Manassas, Virginia; and Raleigh, North Carolina, all of which offer white-glove delivery. All furniture sales are final. You have the right to refuse delivery for furniture that arrives damaged; however, the sale is complete once you sign for the delivery. Rugs may be exchanged within 30 days of purchase.
Green Front Farmville is open Monday-Friday 10AM-5:30 PM and Saturdays from 10AM-6PM. Green Front NOVA is open Monday-Saturday 10AM-6PM and Sundays 12PM-5PM.
Green Front Raleigh is open Monday-Saturday 10AM-6PM and Sundays 1PM-5PM.
All three locations are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Our goal is to make your shopping experience enjoyable and convenient. The Green Front Farmville location is housed in historical buildings and refurbished tobacco warehouses in downtown Farmville. We understand that there may be limitations to accessibility due to the age and historical significance of our buildings. Yes, all active military members get 3% off their Green Front purchase with a valid ID.
New inventory arrives daily, so our selection is always changing. We receive shipping containers filled with rugs, truck loads of furniture direct from the factory, and rooms of floor samples bought after major industry shows. Because many of our items are sold directly from the floor, what you see at Green Front one day could very well be gone the next.
YES! We are set up to sell many of our items directly off of our showroom floors, and many times, we have extras at our offsite distribution center. Unless you are having something custom ordered, a “special order” that must be made to your specifications, all in-stock purchases can leave when you do. The only exceptions are sample items labeled clearly in our showrooms as “special order only.” If you are planning to buy anything particularly large, you want to bring a large vehicle or trailer or even plan on renting a truck or U-Haul. We will help you wrap and load your purchases, so make sure to have a helpful friend or two once you get home to help you safely unload your purchases
Items on multiple tickets will be processed together. We will coordinate all of your items to arrive on the same shipment, or you can choose to take multiple deliveries based on your purchases. Depending on where you are having your delivery, it may be a flat rate, one time charge for delivery, or the delivery fee may be based on the items and weight of the items that you have purchased. Most of the time, delivery fees are collected at the time of purchase, but the fees for deliveries done by independent shippers for ship out customers are usually collected at the time of the delivery. Ask our sales associates about your options at the time of purchase.
Due to current situations and delays, purchases for in-stock items being delivered by the Green Front delivery fleet are typically delivered in 2 to 5 weeks. This time frame can vary depending on a driver’s schedule and routes. For custom orders, this time frame begins once the custom merchandise has been produced and shipped and the last item has arrived at our warehouse facility where the order can then be set up for delivery. Ship out deliveries (out-of-state) of in stock merchandise are currently taking approximately 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. Please be aware that these times are only estimates and delays can lengthen the delivery timeframe.
Outside of the Green Front Furniture white glove delivery service areas in Virginia and North Carolina, our out-of-state deliveries, or “ship out” deliveries are subcontracted through independent, third party shippers. We only use and recommend white glove delivery services. Customers are welcome to contract with a service of their own choosing to come in and pickup their purchases to deliver in home. Green Front has a short list of independent, third party shippers that we can also recommend to our clients. Fees for out-of-state shipments are approximately $3 to $10 per pound at this time based on the total weight of the items purchased and how far the items are being shipped
For exceptionally large orders, we are happy to discuss pricing options. Just speak to your sales associate.
Yes, everything on our floor is for sale — unless, of course someone beats you to it and there is already a sold ticket on the item. There is always a chance that a piece marked with a “sold” ticket is available in the Distribution Center. However many showroom samples or vintage pieces are one of a kind.
Many of Green Front’s manufacturers offer complete customization of their pieces, from upholstery, to wood, to finish. These items are built from scratch and customized to your exact specifications. Your sales associate will be able to use their extensive knowledge to guide you through what options are available with a specific manufacturer or piece. Just remember, because these pieces are made from scratch, they take considerably longer to create and deliver.
We accept Visa, Discover, Mastercard, Amex, personal checks and cash. Green Front does NOT finance, however, you can make a deposit to hold an item. We require that the balance be paid by cash or check in full before delivery.
Sometimes it can be difficult to find a sales associate in our huge buildings. You can identify sales associates by their Green Front name tags. If they are not at their desk or the point of sale (you can locate these on your Field Guide), they are most likely floating on the floor or helping other customers. Remember that out of sight does not mean they are not on site. If you really can’t locate anyone, use any Green Front phone and push zero to be connected the office.
Our floor and rug crew are also wearing Green Front t-shirts. They will be happy to help you locate a sales associate as well.
There are several sales associate in each building who can help you make a purchase. Each sales associate is the most knowledgeable about the manufacturers in their building. They can best answer questions about pieces from that manufacturer and help with orders.
Locate a sales associate and they will help you with your purchase, including explaining the checkout process and shipping options.
No, unfortunately this does not mean the item is free. We get in so much inventory and turn our product so fast, pieces sometimes make it onto the floor without tags. Other times, tags are removed from pieces and not replaced. Our sales associate are happy to find the price for you.
Congratulations on your find. You’re probably looking around for one of our sales associates. Due to our massive size, locating help can be tricky. If you have difficulty locating someone to help you, go to the nearest phone and press “0”. If you are having trouble locating someone, make sure to take a picture to help you find the item later.
Once you locate a sales associate, they will place a sold tag on your piece (or tag it at our distribution center) and begin a ticket for you, the first step of the checkout process.
Our warehouses get pretty hot in the middle of August. And unfortunately most of these buildings get pretty cold in January as well. Buildings 7, 8, 9 and 10 were originally air-curing tobacco facilities. The windows were left open to allow the tobacco leaves hanging from the ceiling to cure. Needless to say, insulation was low on the list of the builder’s priorities. Please dress accordingly.

Yes! Green Front is 100% four-legged friendly. We love meeting your furry friends, just be sure they are well trained and on a leash.
Due to the nature of housing our products in restored tobacco warehouses and historic downtown buildings, most of our Green Front Farmville location is not handicap accessible, with the exception of one or two buildings. Of course, we are always willing to help as much as possible.
Any time is a good time… except Sundays at our Farmville location. We’re closed on that day and if you make the drive, you’ll be disappointed.
We don't require appointments but encourage customers who require more attention to visit on weekdays when we're less busy or to correspond with a specific salesperson before making the trip. Feel free to contact us.
Our three tobacco warehouses do not have central air or heat, so prepare for hot temps in the summer and some winter chilliness. Make sure to consult the expected forecast for the day(s) you’ll be visiting, as Virginia weather is notoriously moody, particularly in the spring and fall months. We also recommend comfy footgear because you will be doing a lot of walking. Bring your exploring spirit and be prepared to find amazing things.

Size definitely does matter when it comes to furniture shopping so be sure to bring measurements with you, including room and floor sizes. Some folks find it helpful to bring a full blueprint of their homes. Fabric swatches, wall color, current flooring samples, and samples of other fabrics in your home are all extremely helpful, especially if you are planning to do any custom ordering. A tape measure also comes in handy for many of our visitors. (Don’t worry. If you forget a tape measure, we have plenty you can use.) If you bring pictures of the items or styles you are looking for, our sales associates can point you in the right direction. Dress comfortably and be prepared for A LOT of walking and stair climbing.
One of the biggest keys to a successful Green Front experience is time, and you’ll want to allow plenty of it. Consider the time needed for the drive, of course, but you’ll also want to allow plenty of time to comb through our massive inventory. Plan to spend the day and maybe even a night or two. Please refer to our lodging page for more information on your options. It also helps to have an idea of the items and styles you're looking for. Use our interactive online map to create your own unique itinerary beforehand.
Most of our inventory is sold by other retailers. Feel free to shop around and explore your options. We’re confident you won't find consistently lower prices elsewhere. Many of our customers take pictures of items they are interested in when they visit and then price shop. Nearly all of them call us back to buy the piece they want, direct from us.
Everywhere! We carry rugs from India, cowhides from Brazil, chairs from Pennsylvania and side tables from Indonesia.
Our furniture is almost always dramatically less than the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), sometimes by as much as 60%. Everyday is a sale. We are opportunists, constantly searching for special buys with manufacturers. We buy full containers of discontinued lines. We buy direct from small rug companies in India. And we even buy “showroom samples” (pieces used as display items at trade shows and other retail locations) to sell direct to you. This ensures our prices are always low.
However, if you’re really itching for a deal, be sure to visit Building 12, AKA “The Boneyard”, for furniture, and Building 7 for our most deeply-discounted rugs.
Occasionally manufacturers may offer markdowns on their particular lines but otherwise, Green Front does not run specials. However, April through July are great times to check out all the showroom samples following Spring Market in High Point, NC. The same is true for December through March, following the Fall Market. Floor samples are abundant and offer the best possible pricing.
We do not keep a live inventory online. We maintain an actively updated list of our manufacturers and where they are located at Green Front which you can explore on our Interactive Map. Our blog, Facebook and Instagram are also great ways to see new items as they arrive on the floor. But, move quickly, even featured items are not guaranteed to stay in stock.
A sampling of direct imports and rugs are available for sale online at The District Exchange. But, if you want the full ‘Green Front Experience’ be sure to make the trip to our Farmville location.
